Ayurveda is considered as one of the oldest holistic healing system. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life” and ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago but with the passage of time it lost it’s glory. Ayurveda is an elaborate system of medicine propounded by great vaidyas of their times. Charaka, who lived probably in 300 BC, propounded this system of medicine, which has been explained and summarised by him in Charak Samhita. Ayurveda is not, as some people think, a list of grandmother’s remedies but a science of self-healing. Ayurveda encompasses diet and nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, rest and relaxation, meditation, breathing exercises, and medicinal herbs, along with cleansing and rejuvenation programs for healing body, mind, and spirit.
Dhara Ayurveda, is an independent platform where we share simplified and unbiased knowledge of Ayurveda. The purpose is to acquaint people with the natural methods, so that they can make the lifestyle choices and learn the self-healing modalities that are right for them in order to create, maintain, or restore health and balance.
